Dr. Donna Gallo, Director of Curriculum and instruction
DR. DONNA GALLO, DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION
Dr. Donna Gallo was appointed the Director of Curriculum and Instruction within Madison Public Schools in August of 2022. As Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Gallo oversees the district's development and implementation of the curriculum programs, and teaching and learning initiatives.
Prior to arriving in Madison, Dr. Gallo served as the principal in Summit Public Schools. During her time in Summit, Dr. Gallo focused her efforts on teaching and learning with extensive work with vertical and horizontal articulation, benchmark assessments, and the development of data teams. Additionally, Dr. Gallo served as assistant principal and secondary special education supervisor in Millburn Township Public Schools. In Millburn, Dr. Gallo responsibilities included child study team oversight, Section 504 chairperson, and testing coordinator.
At the onset of her career, Dr. Gallo served as a special education teacher and transition coordinator in the Bridgewater Raritan Regional School District. This role allowed Dr. Gallo the opportunity to provide direct instruction to students and work closely with students and families supporting the transition from high school to post secondary services and employment.
In 2016, Dr. Gallo earned her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Management from Drexel University. Dr. Gallo’s research focused on examining teachers' attitudes towards evaluation with the implementation of a new evaluation model. In preparation for her career as an educator, Dr. Gallo earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Scranton. Additionally, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education at Kean University.
Dr. Gallo resides in Warren Township with her husband and two young children. In their spare time, the Gallo family enjoys traveling, time with family, gardening, and cooking.
