New Student & Ninth Grade Orientation:  We welcome all students new to Madison and incoming ninth graders to the MHS auditorium on Tuesday, August 27th at 9:00 am.  Students will be provided a tutorial on how to interpret their schedule, a tour of the building including access to their assigned hallway locker, and the opportunity to ask questions of current students.  The Madison High School administration will be meeting with all students to discuss general school rules and procedures to ensure that all students are set up for success on the first day of school.  Guidance counselors will be available in the event there are any issues with schedules.  In addition, we will have student Chromebooks, along with usernames and passwords, available for any student that does not have a Madison issued device.  We anticipate the day being over by 12:00 pm.

Academy of Government & Leadership Meeting:  Students enrolled in the Academy of Government & Leadership program are invited to arrive on the day of orientation at 8:15 am to meet their peers and discuss items directly related to the program.

Bell Schedule:  Please click this link for information regarding the bell schedule MHS will follow during the 24-25 school year.  Keep in mind, alternate bell schedules will be followed on various days throughout the year (see below).

Rotating Drop Schedule:  MHS operates on a 4-day rotating block schedule in which six of the eight periods in a student’s schedule meet on a daily basis.  The 24-25 Year at a Glance Calendar identifies the corresponding letter day indicating which of those six periods meet.

First Day of Classes & Alternate Bell Schedules:  The first day of classes, Tuesday, September 3rd, is a Straight 8 day so students can attend all of their classes and meet all of their teachers.  To access bell schedules for Straight 8 days, delayed openings, half days, and other days that would require a schedule different than above, please click this link.  For those wondering about a supply list, students will be directed by their teachers what is needed for each course on the first day.

Calendar of Events:  To view a list of events scheduled throughout the course of the year, please click this link.  All dates are subject to change and more information regarding the event will be distributed closer to the date of the event.

Summer Assignments:  All students should check the MHS homepage to see if there are summer assignments they are responsible to complete prior to the start of school.  All students will have an English assignment to complete in addition to any AP courses they may be taking.

Clubs and Activities Offerings:  We encourage all new students to get involved in school activities.  We currently offer 40 different clubs and activities.  Click this link for a full list and description of each club.  Clubs and activities are based on student interest and we pilot new clubs each year.
