Bell Schedule for the Week of October 21st
Monday, October 21st - “D” Day
Tuesday, October 22nd - “A” Day
Wednesday, October 23rd - “B” Day
Thursday, October 24th - “C” Day
Friday, October 25th - “D” Day    

All 11th grade students will take the PSAT on Thursday, October 24th.  11th grade students should plan on arriving at school by 7:30 am to find their room location (cafeteria, media center, C16, or C17) which will be posted in the Main Lobby.  Students should come to testing with a fully charged chromebook and a calculator (scientific or graphing, charged or with new batteries).  The bell schedule, linked above, will be adjusted so that there are four blocks prior to lunch.  10th grade students who registered for the PSAT will be sitting for the test the following Tuesday, October 29th.  

Recognitions
Senior Valentina Peluso has been named a Semifinalist for the 2025 class of the Coca-Cola Scholars Program.  1,336 high school seniors were selected as Semifinalists from a pool of over 105,000 submitted applications from across the country based on their academic excellence, leadership, and service demonstrated in school and community activities.  150 Coca-Cola scholars will be named in March to receive a $20,000 scholarship and participate in the Coca-Cola Scholars Leadership Development Institute facilitated by program alumni.  Good luck to Valentina in the next round!

On Tuesday, October 15th, the MHS Boys Cross Cross Country team took home the NJAC Small Schools Division Championship for the second year in a row.  Senior Jacob Nolan came in first overall with a time of 15:42 and senior Leo London took fifth with a time of 16:42.  Ryan Delaney (11th place), Philip Natale (15th place), and John Davidson (19th place) rounded out the lineup for the boys.  The JV Boys team also came in first place.  The girls team finished in third place with sophomore Bella Bolstad finishing in eighth with a time of 19:45.    

On Saturday, October 12th, the Madison Marching Dodgers came in second place in Region IV A at the Ludwig Musser Classic at MetLife Stadium.  The Dodgers also earned Best Percussion and Best Visual.  

Financial Aid Night
The Guidance Department will host a Virtual Financial Aid Night for students and their families on Monday, October 21st at 7:00 pm.  Retired financial advisor Ed Zamora will be providing information about the latest changes to the FAFSA and the application process.  For more details about the presentation, to submit questions in advance, and to register, please click this link.

Madison in the Movies
The MHS Music Department will present a family-friendly “Madison in the Movies” concert on Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 pm in the Madison High School courtyard.  Music fans of all ages will be able to listen to songs from your favorite movies performed by MHS students in the band, chorus, and orchestra.  The concert is free to the public, but cash and check donations are accepted to help lower the cost of the MHS Music Trip in the spring.  Spectators should bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on.  

Trunk or Treat
The Madison High School Student Government is hosting a town wide Trunk or Treat to raise funds for the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corp.  The event will be held on Friday, October 25th in Lot #1 (Tennis Court Side) beginning at 6:00 pm. 

Fall Drama
In November, the Madison High School Dramatic Dodgers are excited to present “Steel Magnolias".  All performances will be held in the John H. Bunnell Auditorium at Madison High School.  For a list of showtimes and to purchase tickets, please proceed to the Madison Public Schools Box Office.

Yearbook Information, Portraits, Senior Ads, and Mobshot
The linked form contains important information regarding when to buy a yearbook and when to submit senior yearbook information including ads, write ups, baby pictures, and K-11 pictures.  Please take note of all deadlines.  No late submissions will be accepted.  Please take note that any senior that did not have their portrait taken over the summer must schedule their appointment.  Christmas City Studios will only be returning to MHS October 29th - 31st.  The Senior Mob Shot will be taken on October 30th during the common lunch period.  Underclassmen retakes will occur on October 29th.  If there are questions, please reach out to Ms. Bratton (brattond@madisonnjps.org).

Winter Sports Registration
Registration for the 2024-2025 Winter Athletic season is open.  Any student interested in playing a winter sport must register, including those that played in the fall.  The deadline to register and ensure that students are cleared by our school physician is Monday, November 4th.  Please click this link for more information on how to register, start dates, and for a list of our winter coaches and their contact information.

Sports Nutrition Workshop
